First, remember, everyone is an athlete, your office is just different.

Injuries are one of the toughest things for athletes to go through. The reason it’s so difficult is that we cope with LIFE through our SPORT.

Our primary coping skill is removed and we struggle

An injury for us can include all of the following… business failure, financial hardship, social anxiety, medical problems, disease, housing issues, failing, litigation, addiction, writer’s block, losses, getting passed over, fired, fear, changing careers, other’s criticism of us, moving, death of a loved one, family troubles, and bad performances are just a small sample of how we can get injured.

It’s not about the SETBACK, it’s about the COMEBACK

When we lose our sense of control, our identity becomes shaken. Then, we are faced with the stark reality of needing to grieve….

Grieving is allowing yourself the time and space to experience the pain of being injured and depressed. Reach out, connect with others, and let go and let God!

It IS okay, to not be okay! It’s just not okay to STAY not okay…
